Olivia has some hand me down barbies. The heads are always falling off and getting mixed up. I have offered to buy her hew barbies several times. She always says she doesn't want new ones. She is showing me in this video how its okay if the heads fall off.... they are still fun to play with.

Yesterday Olivia, Lincoln and I went to the Newport Aquarium. We saw all sorts of fish and all the things you would expect to see at an aquarium. There is a tunnel where sharks and stingrays are swimming over your head and they are so so close. Lincoln found that very interesting. He would watch them so intently. My favorite part was the penguins. Olivia got to touch a starfish, a baby shark, and a horseshoe crab. Olivia was a little dissapointed that we were not going to be able to go swimming in the giant fish tanks. But enjoyed it a lot more than I thought she would anyway. At the end we bought a shark bath toy. Olivia couldn't wait to get home and try it out in the bath with Lincoln.

Olivia and I decidied to make a cake today. We were looking at a new cook book I got at the library and Olivia decided we definatley needed to bake a cake. So we did. Her favorite part she says , is putting in the eggs. We had a bit of an argument over the fact that she did not know how to seperate egg whites and yolks.....I finally got them seperated and everything worked out pretty well. Olivia's second favorite thing about baking cakes is licking the batter, and licking the icing. She helped out with plenty of this. She also learned how eggs turn into white fluffy foam after she beat them for a while with a mixer.....like a pillow she said. We will be eating our Caramel Cake at dinner tonight. I hope its yummy!

Halloween is Olivia's favorite thing. When the decorations and costumes started coming out in stores back in August, she had to see them all. If we were in any store she wanted some quality Halloween time where she could push every display button, try on every wig and mask and squeal with horror/delight at the scary-ness of it all.
She started out slow by asking us to put masks on her..."but don't let me see the mask, its too scary". Then after a while WE could put the masks on.. but absolutely NO scaring her allowed. "just stand there and look at me" she would say. We probably played with every talking zombie face, rattling skeleton, and dancing vampire at Target 8,000 times.
Finally Halloween came...she was a mummy and she was darling. She got tons of candy with her auntie Anna, was the life of a Halloween party, carved a baby pumpkin, and punched a kid in the face who tried to scare her with his mask. It was wonderful.....I can't wait until next year when Lincoln can join in the fun.
